Those Swirled News readers living in South East England may like to know, if they don’t already, that SN’s parent organisation Southern Circular Research holds regular lively public meetings in West Sussex, to which all are welcome. Details follow…
Each month, SCR gathers to hear the latest crop circle news and views with slides, videos and guest speakers in a friendly atmosphere. Meetings are fun and follow Swirled News’s outspoken, lively style. Afterwards, we move to ‘The Potter’s’ pub for drinks and chat.
Our summer meetings traditionally show all the latest crop circles and we animatedly discuss the most recent events. Our forthcoming summer dates are:
THURS, JULY 19
TUES, AUGUST 21
Meetings continue all year around, however, usually with designated speakers and features (to be announced). The remaining dates for 2001 will be:
THURS, SEPTEMBER 20
TUES, OCTOBER 16
THURS, NOVEMBER 15
TUES, DECEMBER 18 (Christmas social)
Meetings are held at:
THE SCOUT CENTRE,
Meetings begin in the UPSTAIRS room at 8.00pm sharp, ending around 10.00pm.
Normal admission: £2.00
Guest speaker evenings: £3.00
Burgess Hill can be most easily reached by taking the A2300 from the A23 road heading south from London, or by taking the A273 turn-off from the A23 shortly after leaving Brighton when heading north.
The entrance to Station Road can be approached from three ways:
1) First left at the traffic lights after the turning to Queen Elizabeth Avenue when heading south on the A273 London Road.
2) Second right at the traffic lights (with an Indian restaurant on the corner) after the big roundabout crossed shortly after entering Burgess Hill heading north on the A273.
3) Opposite Waitrose car park from Civic Way (near MacDonald’s).
The Scout Centre driveway entrance is just opposite The Potter’s pub and the Centre has its own car park. If it’s full, there is easy parking in Station Road.
There are regular services to Burgess Hill from London Victoria or London Bridge, or from Brighton or Worthing.
The Scout Centre is only five minutes walk from Burgess Hill railway station. Turn left as you leave the station and keep walking until you see the entrance to Station Road opposite Waitrose from Civic Way. Once in Station Road, The Potter’s will be on your left after about two minutes, with the Scout Centre driveway opposite.
